TMFC at Summer Nationals: Amabel Wang Wins National Medal with Top-8 in Y-14 Women’s Foil
Portland, Ore. — July 3, 2026. Ten national medals in seven days. On Day 7 of the USA Fencing Summer National Championships, Amabel Wang went 5–1 (+18) through pools in Y-14 Women's Foil, then carved through a 280-fencer field all the way to the quarterfinals — 8th in the nation and Tim Morehouse Fencing Club's tenth national medal of the tournament.
She had company. Eight of TMFC's nine Y-14 foilists advanced from pools: Kai De Castro reached the Top-64 (48th), Savannah Li finished 71st, Anastasia Roberts 85th, Ella Zhu 91st, Amelia Youm 115th, Mila Paek 121st, Joey Rustogi 190th and Ellie Paek 272nd in her first Summer Nationals DE draw.
Two More Top-32s
In Div II Men's Foil, Kai Toomre charged to the Top-32 (26th), backed by Michael Grigoriev (130th), Chase Kwon (201st) and Adam Roth (229th).
In Div II Men's Saber, Sebastian Rosado stormed to the Top-32 — 28th of 213.
In Div II Women's Saber, Adaugo Ejiogu (51st), Chuqing Shi (55th) and Ava Ilagan (58th) all battled through a 130-fencer field.
On the épée strips, Touma Carpenter took 142nd of 338 in a monster Y-14 Men's Épée field, and Coco Yanagida finished 53rd of 150 in Div II Women's Épée.
