Is there a fencing club in Rye, NY?
While TMFC does not have a facility located in Rye itself, our Port Chester training center is only minutes away and serves families throughout Rye, Rye Brook, Harrison, Mamaroneck, Purchase, and Southern Westchester.
How far is TMFC from Rye, NY?
Our Westchester training center is at 135 Pearl St in Port Chester — about 5–10 minutes by car from Rye and Rye Brook, or one Metro-North stop on the New Haven Line. Free parking is available on site.
Do you offer beginner fencing lessons?
Yes. Most students begin with our $40 one-on-one trial lesson. We welcome complete beginners ages 4 through adult and provide all fencing equipment for the lesson.
Do I need previous fencing experience?
No. Most students who start at TMFC have never fenced before. Our coaches will introduce the basics and help determine the best program for your goals.
What should we wear or bring?
Just athletic clothes and sneakers — all fencing equipment is provided. Arrive 10 minutes early so we can get you sized for a mask and saber.
What ages can start?
Ages 4 through adult. Whether you’re a young beginner, a teen trying a new sport, or an adult picking up fencing for the first time, we’ll match you with the right coach.
How much is a trial lesson?
$40 for a 20-minute one-on-one lesson with a TMFC coach. All equipment included.
What happens after the trial?
Your coach will discuss goals, answer questions, and recommend the best TMFC program for your family. Many new families choose our Starter Program: 4 classes, 4 individual lessons, and equipment included.
