ABOUT TIM MOREHOUSE FENCING CLUB at 135 Pearl Street Port Chester, nY (EST. 2018)

Tim Morehouse Fencing Club in Westchester County in the neighborhood Port Chester, NY was established in 2018, and is located just south of Greenwich, CT, and nearby Rye, Larchmont, Scarsdale, Edgemont and Mamaroneck. It was the second club founded by Olympic Silver Medalist Tim Morehouse in response to the growing interest of students in the area who were traveling down to TMFC's West Side location. The establishment of the Port Chester location was significantly influenced by Paul Shainberg, the father of TMFC student and Notre Dame graduate Jonah Shainberg. Paul, who always wanted a fencing club closer to his home in Rye, NY, found the current space for TMFC Port Chester.

This facility is one of the most visible fencing clubs in the country, with 18,000 cars passing by its main roads weekly and visibility from the Metro North Train, which stops just three blocks from the club. Situated on a hill, it is a shining beacon for the fencing community, prominently seen by drivers on Boston Post Road and Pearl Street. Unlike most fencing clubs, TMFC Port Chester enjoys significant visibility on the main roads and has helped to increase interest in the sport throughout the Westchester area.

A significant milestone at TMFC’s Port Chester was the establishment of the first Foil program in club history with Olympian and Elite Coach Slava Grigoriev joining the club in 2019 and bringing his robust coaching style and current students into the TMFC family. The club has had numerous Olympian coaches over the years, including Archil Lortkipanidze who coached at TMFC from 2017-2021, and current coaches and Olympians Slava Grigoriev Ziad Elsissy, Amer Mohammad, Essam Mohammad, Mamadou Keita and Olympic Silver Medalist Tim Morehouse all coaching there on a regular basis.
