Questions & Answers

Squires Program FAQ

Everything parents of young fencers ask.

What ages are Squires?
Squires is built for ages 4–6 — our youngest athletes. At ages 6–8, students move up to the Musketeers program.
How do Squires classes work?
Classes are created on request with 2–6 students: 40 minutes with 2 students, up to 60 minutes with 4–6. Have a friend or sibling group? We’ll build a class around your schedule at your location.
What if we don’t have a group?
No problem — your 10-pack works as 20-minute private lessons with our coaches, scheduled at times that suit your family.
What does a 4-year-old actually learn?
Coordination, balance, listening, and focus — through games and play-based fencing. Squires build a love of the sport first; technique follows naturally.
What equipment do Squires need?
None — everything is provided. Squires train with soft plastic and foam sabers and club-provided, child-sized protective gear. Just send your fencer in comfortable athletic clothes and sneakers.
