Fall enrollment FAQ

Questions before you register?

These are the most common questions families ask when choosing a fall fencing program.

When do fall fencing classes begin?

The 2026–27 season begins September 1, 2026. Registration is already underway, and popular after-school and weekend times tend to fill first.

Can my child join with no fencing experience?

Yes. TMFC welcomes first-time fencers. Families can begin with a trial lesson or choose a Starter Program before moving into the right ongoing class.

Which program is right for my child?

Squires is designed for ages 4–6, Youth Fencing serves ages 6–12, and Teen Fencing serves ages 13–18. Starter options help new fencers begin at the right pace, while Elite Programs are for advanced competitive athletes admitted by coach evaluation.

Where are fall classes offered?

TMFC offers programs on Manhattan’s West Side and East Side, in Port Chester, New York, and in New Canaan, Connecticut. Program availability varies by location.

Does my child need fencing equipment?

Equipment is provided for trial lessons, Starter Programs and Squires. Equipment requirements differ for ongoing youth, teen and adult programs; the program page and TMFC coaches will explain exactly what is needed.

How do I reserve a preferred day and time?

Review the program and location options, then begin registration. Enrolling early gives your family the best selection while popular class times are still available.
