Day TEN: Miles Chambers is National Champion

Phoenix, AZ (July 9, 2023) — He’s been leading the national standings all season and Miles Chambers sealed the deal and wrapped up the season.

The Y-10 Men’s Saber fencer won gold, bringing home the title to the Tim Morehouse Fencing Club.

Amabel Wang just missed the medal stand in Y-10 Women’s Foil, coming in ninth.

There were also other strong finishes in Y-10 Men’s Saber. Marcus Avery (23) and William Lucas (24) finished in the top-32. While Aidan Song (42) and Blake Lee (64) finished in the top 64.

The contenders in Y-10 Men’s Foil were strong, with Thomas Czarnecki (15) finishing in the top-16. Michael Grigoriev (19), Haochen Yu (26) and Ancen Wang (27) made the top-32.

In Y-12 Women’s Saber, Charlotte Choi (38) made the top-64.

The National Championships and July Challenge (Summer Nationals) were in Phoenix, AZ, from June 30 to July 9. This signature tournament featured 96 events (and 96 medal ceremonies) over 10 days. Medals — and national championships — were awarded in every USA Fencing classification, from the youngest (Y-10) to the most seasoned veterans (Vet-80).
