Coach Rafael "Fito" Western is a Silver Medalist

San Salvador, ESA (July 4, 2023) — Coach Fito is a silver medalist.

Competing at the Central American and Caribbean Games 2023 for his home of Puerto Rico, Tim Morehouse Fencing Club’s Rafael “Fito” Western won silver in Men’s Saber. In addition, Team Puerto Rico won bronze for the Men’s Saber Team, giving Fito a second medal.

In individual Men’s Saber, Fito entered the competition as the sixth seed. He emerged from pools undefeated in first place. His Direct Elimination bouts were challenging and he ultimately came up short for the gold, earning silver instead.
