Day ONE: Summer Nationals Kicks Off with a Medal for Holly Buechel
Phoenix, AZ (June 30, 2023) —Tim Morehouse Fencing Club kicked off day one of Summer Nationals the best way — with a medal.
Epée fencer Holly Buechel stayed the course in the Division !-A Women’s event to earn a seventh-place finish. In 11th place after pools, she fought through her DE rounds, even eeking out one 15-14 win to advance. Along with her medal, she earned her A 23 rating.
The day was host to lots of great action. In Division I Women’s Foil, both Alina Zhang and Iris Yang made the top 64. And in Junior Men’s Saber, Shaun Kim and Robert Wang did the same.
