TMFC Featured Fencer: Madison Four-Garcia

New York, NY — She’s been a Tim Morehouse fencer practically from the start of the club. And even though Madison Four-Garcia is a rising sophomore at Columbia University and competes for the Lions’ famed fencing program, she can be seen taking lessons and class at TMFC. Get to know today’s featured fencer.

Name: Madison Four-Garcia

Weapon: Saber

Hometown: Cliffside Park, NJ

How long have you fenced: 10 years this August

Coach: Iba Keita and Tim Morehouse

What I love about fencing: I love the community and all the friends I’ve made all over the world. I also love the puzzle of figuring out which tactics and actions work in the moment.

Favorite tournament/bout and why: Segovia World Cup! It was my first World Cup at the Junior level since my knee injury diagnosis. It meant a lot to me even though I didn’t do as well as I wanted to.

Interests outside fencing: Anything related to politics and hanging out with my friends on campus or exploring the city with them.

Events at Summer Nationals: Division I Women’s Saber and Junior Women’s Saber.
