Ainsley McKee, Coach Ziad and Keira Lauri
Suffern, NY (Feb 4 - 5, 2023) — Forget the record cold outside; the fencing inside was hot, hot, hot.
With fencers from Tim Morehouse Fencing Club competing in all three weapons, they cumulatively earned a record 23 medals.
There were three gold medals:
Ella Calise in Cadet Women’s Foil
Aram Clark in Y-12 Men’s Saber, and
Brynnley McKee in Cadet Women’s Saber. She also earned her B23 rating.
There were three silver medals:
Charlotte Choi in Y-10 Women’s Saber
Haochen Yu in Y-10 Men’s Foil, and
Robert Wang in Junior Men’s Saber.
There were four bronze medals:
Keira Lauri in Y-14 Women’s Saber
Kai Toomre in Y-12 Men’s Foil
Amabel Wang in Y-10 Women’s Foil, and
Iris Yang in Junior Women’s Foil.
And the list goes on… In Y-14 Men’s Saber, Enzo Bera earned fifth place. Brendan Lee took fifth in Y-14 Men’s Foil. Eleanor Li earned fifth place in Y-14 Women’s Foil. Ethan Chen earned sixth place in Cadet Men’s Foil and his E23 rating.
In Junior Men’s Saber, Matthew Fields earned seventh place and his C23 rating. In Y-12 Women’s Foil, Anastasia Roberts came in seventh. In Y-10 Men’s Foil, Ancen Wang took seventh place and Thomas Czarnecki took eighth. Vedh Srivats earned eighth place in Y-12 Men’s Saber.
Amabel Wang was a triple medal winner. In addition to her bronze medal, she took fifth place in Y-12 Women’s Foil and eighth place in Y-14 Women’s Foil. Ella Calise was a double medal winner, also earning sixth place in Junior Women’s Foil. So was Keira Lauri, who also took eighth place in Cadet Women’s Saber.
