Tim Morehouse Coach Ziad Elsissy Wins NAC Bronze + Event Wrap-up

Salt Lake City, UT (December 9-12, 2022) — Ziad Elsissy is a bronze medalist.

The Olympian, who represents Egypt, earned a third-place finish in Division I Men’s Saber at the Salt Lake City North American Cup.

His medal was one of four that Tim Morehouse Fencing Club fencers won. Cadet Men’s Saber fencer Shaun Kim won gold and Cadet Women’s Foil fencers Alina Zhang and Iris Yang won sixth and eighth place medals, respectively. Yang also earned an A22 rating.

Overall, fencers from TMFC made a strong showing at this national competition. There were top-16 finishes for Madison Four-Garcia, Brynnley McKee, Leanne Singleton-Comfort and Robert Wang. Fencers who made the top-32 cut were: Madison Duckett, Wang, Four-Garcia, Catherine Zhou and Zhang.

The next North American Cup will be held January 6-9, 2023 in Louisville, KY. Division I, Junior, Veteran Age and Veteran Combined events will be held in all three weapons.
