Tim Morehouse Fencers Earned a Record 26 Medals at the Garden State Trick or Retreat RYC/RJC

Metuchen, NJ (October 22 -23, 2022) — It was one for the record books.

Fencers from Tim Morehouse Fencing Club competed in an unprecedented 78 events this weekend at the Garden State Trick or Retreat RYC/RJC and were rewarded with 26 medals, five of which were gold.

Tim Morehouse fencers tool half of the medals in Y-12 Men’s Saber with Vedt Srivats, Miles Chambers and Royce Zhao taking gold, silver and bronze, respectively. Isaac Yook joined them at sixth place. Y-14 Men’s Saber results were similar with Ethan Kim taking bronze, Connor Chung earning fifth place and Samuel Sugiura taking eighth place.

Haochen Yu earned gold in Y-10 Men’s Foil with teammate Thomas Czarnecki bringing bronze. Michael Czarnecki brought home eighth.

Brynnley McKee won gold in Y-14 Women’s Saber, narrowly edging out teammate Sofia Schaible in silver. Coco Guven took fifth place.

In Y-10 Men’s Saber, it was Miles Chambers again in gold with Aidan Song in silver. Blake Lee earned an eighth place medal.

Veronika Gonzalez earned silver in Y-12 Women’s Saber.

Zizi Dai earned bronze in Y-14 Women’s Foil with Eleanor Li joining her on the medal stand in fifth place. Amabel Wang won the first of the weekend’s three medals taking seventh place in Y-14 Women’s Foil, taking seventh place. She took gold in Y-10 Women’s Foil and bronze in Y-12 Women’s Foil.

Gabriel McCarthy earned a bronze medal in Junior Men’s Saber. Not to be outdone, little sister Nora Louisa McCarthy earned her own medal, taking eighth in Y-10 Women’s Saber.

Kai Toomre took sixth place in Y-12 Men’s Foil. Also in sixth place was Ella Calise in Junior Women’s Foil.
