Scarsdale's Alina Zhang Earns a Medal at the October North American Cup

Minneapolis, MN (October 8, 2022) — Tim Morehouse Fencer Alina Zhang made the medal stand at the October NAC.

Zhang earned seventh place in Cadet Women’s Foil, also earning an A22 rating in the process.

The October NAC, or North American Cup, is the first nation competition in the 2022-2023 season. Earning national points puts fencers in contention for the Junior Olympics and junior national teams that can compete internationally.

As a result, Zhang is currently ranked eighth in the nation.

Zhang is a native of Scarsdale, NY where she is a junior at Scarsdale High School school. She trains at Tim Morehouse Fencing Club in Port Chester with Coach Slava Grigoriev.

Earlier this season, Zhang won gold at the 9-State Fencing Cup.

Congratulations!!
