A Podium Day for TMFC Women’s Foil at Summer Nationals (Day 1 Recap)
Tim Morehouse Fencing Club opened the 2026 USA Fencing Summer National Championships with a podium day for women's foil. TMFC sent 17 fencers to the strip across two events on Day 1 in Portland, Oregon, and the foil program turned the opening day into a celebration.
Two Medals in Division I Women's Foil
In a 133-fencer Division I Women's Foil field — the deepest senior event on the USA Fencing calendar — two TMFC fencers reached the podium. Iris Yang took Bronze (3rd place) after a dominant 5–1 pool round, and Grace Feng earned a top-8 medal in 8th. Four of seven TMFC foilists finished inside the national points (top 64).

Junior Women's Saber: Charlotte Choi Banks Travel Points
On the saber side, 10 TMFC fencers competed in a 263-deep Junior Women's Saber draw. Charlotte Choi led the group in 13th, banking critical points toward her Cadet (top-20) and Junior (top-12) national travel positions for next season. Alexia Anthony went 5–1 in pools and Bethany Bush posted a 4–2 record.

In a 133-fencer Division I Women’s Foil field — the deepest senior event on the calendar — two TMFC fencers reached the podium: Iris Yang took BRONZE (3rd place) after a dominant 5–1 pool round, and Grace Feng finished 8th for a top-8 medal.
The depth was just as impressive: four of our seven foilists finished in the top 64 to earn national points, with Ella Calise (21st, a tournament-best +21 indicator on a 5–1 pool) and Zizi Dai (24th, also 5–1) joining the medalists.
