Charlotte, NC (Feb 16-19, 2024) — Gabriel McCarthy gave it his all, and received in return.
Fighting through a field of almost 300 fencers, McCarthy came out in the top-eight to make the medal stand at his final Cadet Men’s Saber event at the Junior Olympics. This marks the end of his time in this category for 16 and under fencers. It was a legendary finish. And he earned his A24 rating.
Other TMFC saber fencers had excellent performances. Brynnley McKee narrowly missed the Cadet medal stand, finishing in ninth place. And McKee and Madison Duckett both made the top-32 in the Junior event.
Congratulations to fencers, their coaches and families.
