Day SIX: Medals for Tim Morehouse Foilists Nickolas Rusadze and Selena Zhang

Phoenix, AZ (July 5, 2023) — It was a bang-up day for the Tim Morehouse foilists.

First, Nickolas Rusadze pulled off a fifth-place medal for Division I-A Men’s Foil, and then later, Selena Zhang won seventh place in Division III Women’s Foil.

Overall, it was a day of stellar performances from Tim Morehouse fencers, as everyone who competed came out on top of these giant fields.

In Division I-A Men’s Foil, James Ball (44) and Jonah Lee (47) each made the top-64. In Division I-A Women’s Saber, Varvara Mankova (37) made the top-64.

In Division III Men’s Saber, Connor Chung (17), Seth Edelman (18) and Samuel Sugiura (24) all made the top-32. And finally in Division III Women’s Foil, Eleanor Li (27) made the top-32.

The National Championships and July Challenge (Summer Nationals) are in Phoenix, AZ, from June 30 to July 9. This signature tournament features 96 events (and 96 medal ceremonies) over 10 days. Medals — and national championships — will be on the line in every USA Fencing classification, from the youngest (Y10) to the most seasoned veterans (Vet 80).
