Robert Wang Wins Gold, Nickolas Rusadze, Bronze at the Pan-American Games

Bogota, Colombia (March 1-7, 2023) — Robert Wang struck gold at the Pan-American Champions.

As part of Team USA for Junior Team Men’s Saber, Wang and fellow fencers Ji Cody Walter and Gian Dhingra dominated Team Brazil in the finals 45-24 to take the top spot. The Pan-American Championships for Cadets and Juniors ends on March 7.

In addition, fresh off his gold medal at the Junior Olympics, Nickolas Rusadze won bronze in the Cadet Men’s Foil event.

Bolstered by Wang, Rusadze and their fellow fencers, Team USA is leading the way in earning gold medals and the medal count overall.

Wang fenced earlier in the tournament in Junior Men’s Saber. He fought his way to fifth place, with Coach Ziad Elsissy encouraging him along the way.

This success takes the season's international medal count for the Tim Morehouse Fencing Club to 13. Congratulations fencers, coaches and families.
