Junior Olympic Medals Earned by Nickolas Rusade and Junior Women's Foil Team

Denver, CO (February 17-20, 2023) — Nickolas Rusadze is a Junior Olympic gold medalist.

The 15-year-old bested 285 of the country’s top foil fencers to win gold in the Cadet Men’s Foil event at the Junior Olympics.

He was a double medal-winner at the tournament, tying for sixth place in the Junior Men’s Foil event.

The Junior Women’s Foil Team also earned Junior Olympic medals, coming in third in a field of 20 teams. The team was made up of Ella Calise, Iris Yang, Alina Zhang and Catherine Zhou.

All of these foil fencers train with Coach Slava Grigoriev, who runs one of the country's strongest foil programs.
