Program Overviews

TEENS

About
Our developmental programs are designed to provide age-appropriate training for students, breaking them into smaller groups based on their experience levels within each class depending on class size.

Ages

  • Teens (ages 13-17)

Student Levels in Developmental Programs:

  • Beginner

  • Intermediate

  • Beginning to Compete

Class Length

  • Teen classes are 60 minutes long.

Equipment

  • Students need group class equipment to participate.

About
These are general guidelines for training and competing frequency but as a student progresses their program can become more tailored. Your students lead coach will help you evaluate the best training plan for the season.

Teens (First Year Students)

  • Group Classes: Attend group classes twice per week.

  • Private Lessons: Take 1-2 private lessons per week.

  • Tournaments: Compete in club tournaments once every two months.

  • Camps:

    • Summer: 1-2 weeks of Summer Camps

    • Fall-Winter-Spring: Attend a few of our Holiday and Random School holiday camps throughout the year when school is closed.

Teens (Second Year Students)

  • Group Classes: Attend group classes 2-3 times per week.

  • Private Lessons: Take 2-3 private lessons per week.

  • Tournaments: Compete in club tournaments once per month and start participating in regional events in your age category upon the recommendation of your lead coach.

  • Fencing Camps:

    • Summer Camps:

      • Summer Day Camps: Attend 2-4 weeks of Summer Day Camps
        (Depending on your plans to transition to competing or for students who are already competing)

      • Sleep Away Camp in Boston (Late July-Early August): students ages 8-9 can attend as commuters. Ages: 10+ can attend as residential campers.

    • Fall-Winter-Spring:

      • Attend a few of our Holiday and Random School holiday camps throughout the year when school is closed.

      • Winter Break camps Dec. 26-Dec. 30 (Ages: 8+)

Teens (Third Year): Transition to Competitive Elite Program depending on competitive goals
