Morehouse Fencers Earned Ratings, Medals at the Neil Lazar ROC

New Haven, CT (September 24-25, 2022) — It’s hard to earn more ratings than medals, but the Tim Morehouse Fencing Club fencers almost did it.

There was plenty of action at the Floyd Little Athletic Center in New Haven, mainly for the older youth fencers and veteran fencers. And if it was ratings they wanted, it was ratings they got.

Gold medalists Robert Wang (Division I-A Men’s Saber) and Catherine Zhou (Division II Women’s Foil) earned bonuses. Wang got a B-22 rating and Zhou earned a C-22.

Division I-A Men’s Foil fencer Nicholas Rusadze took bronze and, in turn, got his A-22 rating.

Holly Buechel, won an eighth-place medal in Division I-A Women’s Epée, and earned a B-22 rating.

And as a bonus, Veteran Epée fencer Joanne Gerrish earned an E-22 for her 12th place finish.

Shaun Kim, already an A-22, earned bronze in Division I-A Men’s Saber to join teammate Wang on the medal stand.

Congratulations fencers, coaches and parents.
