South Salem's Nickolas Rusadze Earns Bronze at the October NAC

Minneapolis, MN (October 9, 2022) — Tim Morehouse Fencer Nickolas Rusadze is a bronze medalist.

Rusadze competed in a field of 242 fencers to earn his medal in the Cadet Men’s Foil event at the October NAC.

This fencer came out of pools ranked in 29th place even though he won five of his six pool bouts. He fought hard in his Direct Elimination bouts, 15-11, 15-8, 15-10, 15-10, 15-10, before finally falling to the first seed, 5-15.

The October NAC, or North American Cup, is the first nation competition in the 2022-2023 season. Earning national points puts fencers in contention for the Junior Olympics and junior national teams that can compete internationally.

As a result, Rusadze is currently ranked 24th in the nation.

Rusadze is a native of South Salem, NY where he is a sophomore at John Jay High School school. He trains at Tim Morehouse Fencing Club in Port Chester with Coach Slava Grigoriev (his father).

Congratulations!!
