Exciting upgrades for the sleep-away camp

🚀 Upgrades for Summer 2026

We’re committed to making Summer 2026 the best sleep-away camp we’ve ever run, and we’re well on our way. We’re incredibly excited about what we’re building and wanted to share some of the major upgrades coming this summer.

🎓 New Camp Name & Expanded College Coach Presence

For 2026, we’ve updated the camp name to:

College Coaches & Olympians Sleep-Away Camp

This new name reflects the expanded role college coaches will play throughout the week, giving campers deeper exposure to college fencing programs, recruiting pathways, and training environments.

We’re excited to confirm the following college coaches:

  • Michael Aufrichtig (Columbia University Head Coach) — attending Session 1, leading a Columbia-themed college day

  • Olek Ochocki (Princeton Saber Coach) — attending Session 1 (and possibly Session 2), leading a Princeton-themed day

  • Daria Schneider (Harvard University Head Coach) — attending Sessions 1 & 2, leading Harvard-themed days both weeks

  • Ariana Klinkov (Cornell University) — returning this summer to coach, mentor, and lead sessions focused on Cornell and the college recruiting process

These themed college days will give campers meaningful insight into:

  • College team culture

  • Training styles

  • Recruiting expectations

  • The college fencing pathway

🤝 Club Partnerships

Coaches Eli Dershwitz (Zeta Fencing) & Peyman Fakhri (Cali Fencing) who will be coaching at Sleep-Away Camp This Summer

New Club Camp Partners! Coaches Eli Dershwitz (Zeta Fencing) and Peyman Fakhri (Cali Fencing), who will be coaching at the TMFC College Coaches & Olympians Sleep-Away Camp this summer!

To further elevate the competitive environment, we’re inviting select top clubs to join us this summer, creating a deeper and more diverse training pool.

Confirmed partners include:

  • Zeta Fencing, with Eli Dershwitz attending alongside Zeta athletes

  • Cali Fencing, led by Peyman Fakhri, 4× Olympic Team Coach for Iran

  • Capital Fencing, led by Coach Dariusz Gilman, their club has an incredible tracker record of developing successful national and international fencers.

We’re also in conversation with additional high-level saber, foil, and épée clubs, with the goal of bringing together one of the strongest multi-weapon training environments we’ve ever had.

🏅 Referee Training Course (New for 2026)

We’re excited to welcome Jeff Bukantz, two-time U.S. Olympic Team Captain, who will lead a referee training seminar during camp.

Campers interested in becoming rated referees will have the opportunity to complete:

  • The written portion of referee certification

  • The observational portion during live competition

This course will be offered during both Session 1 and Session 2 and is a great opportunity for athletes interested in leadership, rules knowledge, and giving back to the sport.

🏫 What’s Staying the Same

While we’re making exciting upgrades, many of the things families love most remain unchanged:

  • Hosted once again at St. Mark’s School in Southborough, MA

  • Air-conditioned dorms and training facilities

  • A staff of Olympians, elite coaches, college athletes, and national-level instructors

  • World-class training, competition, and a positive camp culture

We can’t wait to welcome athletes from around the country for what promises to be an unforgettable Summer 2026.
