6 APRIL NAC MEDALS FOR TIM MOREHOUSE FENCING CLUB
Thirty-five Tim Morehouse Fencing Club athletes traveled to compete at the Division I & Para Championships — one of the most competitive events on the USA Fencing calendar — and came home with an impressive collection of top finishes across foil, saber, and veteran events. Every TMFC fencer who competed earned national points, a testament to the depth of talent training out of our club.
Top-8 Finishes
Six TMFC fencers cracked the top eight in their respective events — an outstanding achievement at a national championship:
Charlotte Choi — Top 8, Junior Women's Saber
Zizhuo "Zizi" Dai — Top 8, Junior Women's Foil
Grace Feng — Top 8 in both Junior Women's Foil and Division I Women's Foil
Shaun Kim — Top 8, Division I Men's Saber
Tai Park — Top 8, Veteran 60–69 Men's Saber
Grace Feng's double Top-8 performance — competing at both the junior and senior open level simultaneously — was one of the highlights of the weekend.
Top-16 & Top-32 Standouts
Eight more athletes finished in the top 16, including Iris Yang in Division I Women's Foil, Lily Laffy in Junior Women's Saber, Philip Matsakh in Junior Men's Foil, Aaron Waxler in Veteran 40–49 Men's Saber, Augusto Pinto and Tai Park in Veteran Men's Saber, Madelon Rosenfeld in Veteran 70+ Women's Foil, and Zizi Dai again in Division I Women's Foil.
Division I Women's Foil was a particular bright spot for the club — 10 TMFC fencers finished in the top 16 of that event alone, an extraordinary show of depth in one of the most competitive fields at the NAC.
Eleven fencers reached the top 32, including Miles Chambers, Connor Chung, Amabel Wang, Iris Yang, Brendan Lee, Isaac Yook, Ella Calise, Aaron Waxler, Augusto Pinto, and Elizabeth Field across foil and saber events.
New Rating
Congratulations to Lily Laffy, who earned her B26 rating at this tournament — a well-deserved milestone after a career-strong showing in Junior Women's Saber.
A Strong Close to the Season
With 61 total event entries across 14 events, the breadth of TMFC's representation at this championship reflects both the range of our program — from juniors to veterans — and the high level of training our coaches provide every day on the strip.
Congratulations to all our athletes who competed. We'll see you back on the strip as we look ahead to the rest of the season.
