TMFC Saber Fencers Earn 12 Medals at the Winter Thrust

Suffern, NY (Feb 3-4, 2024)—You want bling? Tim Morehouse has bling of many colors.

An enormous battalion of saber fencers turned out for the Winter Thrust RYC/RJCC in Suffern, NY and it paid off. TMFC fencers brought home 12 medals for all the hard work.

Alexander Francois won gold in Cadet Men’s Saber, earning his C24 rating. Also, in this event, Samuel Sugiura won bronze, and Isaac Yook won an eighth-place medal and his E24 rating.

Madison Duckett also won gold, in Junior Women’s Saber, along with her A24 rating. Teammate Brynnley McKee won silver in this same event.

The third gold came in Y-10 Women’s Saber when Chloe Chen took the top spot and Alaia Varah won bronze.

Ryan Waxler won a silver medal in Y-14 Men’s Saber while Viraat Sarwahi won a sixth-place medal and Sawyer Cheng took seventh place in the same event.

Marcus Avery won bronze in Y-12 Men’s Saber. Leo Shapiro won a fifth-place medal in Y-10 Men’s Saber.
