Tim Morehouse Fencers were Medaling at the Motor City SYC

Troy, MI (April 14-16, 2023) — Like the song says, “Don’t forget the motor city.”

The Motor City SYC/RCC didn’t quite have the Tim Morehouse Fencing Club kids dancing in the streets, but almost.

The club racked up an impressive 16 medals with a surprisingly small group of TMFC fencers in attendance.

The Y-12 and Y-10 Men’s Saber events were overrun with Morehouse fencers and the medal stands reflected it. In Y-12, four of the eight medals went to TMFC. Marcus Pinto took second, Royce Zhao and Miles Chambers shared third and Isaac Yook took seventh.

In Y-10, even more — five medals — went to Tim Morehouse. Miles Chambers took gold, Aidan Song took silver, Leo Shapiro was fifth, William Lucas was in sixth place and Harrison Wang took eighth.

In Y-14 Women’s Foil, Grace Feng continued her medal-streak, winning silver. In Y-10 Men’s Foil, Thomas Czarnecki took bronze.

Enzo Bera took two bronze medals — one in Cadet Men’s Saber and one in Y-14 Men’s Saber. Connor Chung also took bronze in Y-14 Men’s Saber and earned his D23 rating.

In Y-10 Women’s Saber, Charlotte Choi won silver and her TMFC teammate Nora Louisa McCarthy won eighth place.
