Tim Morehouse Saber Fencers hit the Lucky 13 at the Morris Cup RYC

Metuchen, NJ (March 18-19, 2023) — Lucky 13.

Fencers from Tim Morehouse Fencing Club hit the lucky number of total medals won by fencing hard and often at the Morris Cup RYC/RJCC.

Starting with gold medals, Aram Clark topped Y-12 Men’s Saber and Miles Chambers took the top spot in Y-10 Men’s Saber.

Silver medalists include Gabriel McCarthy in Cadet Men’s Saber, Marcus Pinto in Y-12 Men’s Saber and Connor Chung in Y-14 Men’s Saber. Bronze medalists include Varvara Mankova in Cadet Women’s Saber and Ethan Kim in Cadet Men’s Saber, both of whom earned their D23 ratings. Miles Chambers took bronze in Y-12 Men’s Saber and Enzo Bera did as well in Y-14 Men’s Saber.

Other medalists include:

  • Connor Chung, fifth place in Cadet Men’s Saber, his second medal of the weekend;

  • Royce Zhao, fifth place in Y-12 Men’s Saber;

  • Alexander Francois, seventh place in Cadet Men’s Saber, earned E23 rating;

  • Sienna Young, eighth place in Y-10 Women’s Saber.

Over 100 fencers from the Tim Morehouse Fencing Club competed in this tournament. All three weapons were represented. This is a new record for the club, in its sixth year.
