Team USA Men's Saber Teams Takes Gold

Algiers, Algeria (Nov 9-12, 2023) — Team USA is golden.

The international season kicked off in Algeria and the American men walked away with the gold medal for Senior Team, Men’s Saber. The lineup differed from the one seen at the Pan American Championships and included Tim Morehouse Fencing Club’s Eli Dershwitz, Daryl Homer, Coliin Heathcock and Andrew Doddo.

In the individual Senior Men’s Saber event at the Coupe de Monde Saber d’Algier, TMFC fencers fared well with the following results:  

  • 9 - Eli Dershowitz

  • 10 - Ziad El-Sissy, fencing for Team Egypt

  • 61 - Filip Dolegiewicz

  • 102 - Mohamed Amer, fencing for Team Egypt

  • 147 - Babacar Keita, fencing for Team Senegal.
