Tim Morehouse Fencers Earn More Than 20 Medals at the Jersey Clash

Metuchen, NJ (Oct 14-15, 2023) — It was a shiny weekend.

Fencers from Tim Morehouse Fencing Club earned more than 20 medals at the Jersey Clash, shining from the Y-8 events to the Junior events.

Vedh Srivats led the way to a Y-12 Men’s Saber domination, winning the gold medal. He was joined by teammates Royce Zhao in third, Zihou Dai in fifth place and William Lucas in eighth place.

Savannah Li had a two-medal weekend winning silver in Y-12 Women’s Foil and fifth in Y-14 Women’s Foil. She shared the medal stand with teammate Sophie Huang who took eighth place.

In Cadet Women’s Saber, Varvara Mankova won silver. As did Ken Frantz in Y-8 Men’s Saber.

Also wining silver was Leo Shapiro in Y-10 Men’s Saber. Maximilian Hagn won sixth place in the same event.

Michael Grigoriev won bronze in Y-12 Men’s Foil, as did Luca Yang in Y-8 Men’s Foil. He shared the medal stand with Crescent Yang who finished in seventh place.

in Y-14 Men’s Saber, Viraat Sarwahi won bronze with teammate Jonas Broening-Chai winning fifth place.

Nia Maluki showed promise in some of the youngest fencers, winning bronze in Y-10 Women’s Saber. Fellow TMFC fencer Alaia Varah took fifth place in the same event.
