TMFC Fencers Earn 18 Medals at the Star Cup RYC/RJCC

Taunton, MA (September 17-18, 2022) — Five was the golden number for Tim Morehouse Fencing Club.

TMFC teammates earned a whopping five gold medals at the Star Cup RYC/RJCC in Massachusetts. Silver, bronze and other top-eights added up to a banner 18 medals for the weekend.

Grace Feng kicked the tournament off with a gold in Y-12 Women’s Foil. Tim Morehouse teammate Yunong Lin earned eighth in the same event.

Miles Chambers had a double gold weekend. He earned his first first in Y-12 Men’s Saber, with teammate Zihou Dai joining him on the medal stand in fifth place. His second gold came in Y-10 Men’s Saber, where he battled it out for the top spot with TMFC’s Aidan Song, who took silver.

Tim Morehouse foil fencers dominated Y-14 Women’s Foil — Iris Yang took gold, Zizi Dai took fifth and Feng made the cut, earning her second medal of the weekend in eighth place. Yang’s second medal was silver in Junior Women’s Foil.

Ethan Chen earned his first gold in Y-12 Men’s Foil.

Alina Zhang took silver in Cadet Women’s Foil while teammate Yang earned her third medal of the weekend — fifth place.

Shaun Kim started his season with a bronze in Junior Men’s Saber. Gabriel McCarthy also medaled at sixth place.

Ethan Chen took seventh in Y-14 Men’s Foil. Jonah Lee took eighth in Junior Men’s Foil.

And Samuel Sugiura earned his first ever cadet medal in Cadet Men’s Saber, coming in eighth.
