Eli Dershwitz, Filip Dolegiewicz win Team Silver at the Italian World Cup

Padua, Italy, (March 1-3, 2024) — This teamwork makes the dream work.

Team USA’s men’s saber team has qualified the USA for the Paris Olympics. With a silver medal win at the Padua World Cup on March 3, the deal was sealed.

Colin Heathcock and Mitchell Saron joined Tim Morehouse fencers Eli Dershwitz and Filip Dolegiewicz to take the silver medal in a tight final bout. They won 45-44. This win comes on the heels of this same team winning bronze last week.

Competing for the Trophée Luxardo in individual competition, Dershwitz finished in fifth place. Dolgiewicz finished in 65th place. Coach Raphael “Fito” Western, competing for Puerto Rico, finished in 165th place.

Congratulations to our fencers, coaches and family.
