What you love about fencing: Fencing has allowed me to better myself and helped me grow. Through fencing, I have learned important life lessons, such as the importance of discipline and focus to block out all distractions and concentrate on your actions. I learned to take risks, to make mistakes, and, most importantly, to always stay strong and believe in myself. Most importantly, I learned the importance of hard work and perseverance. These lessons are most definitely not left on the strip as I apply them to any situation, whether it is academics, friendships or community service.

Favorite tournament/bout and why: I had the opportunity to strip-coach Y-10 and Y-12 fencers at the 9-State Fencing Cup in 2023, which was an awesome experience. I learned what it means to be a strip coach and shared with the younger fencers the knowledge I have gained over my 6-year fencing career. Some of the younger kids also gave me cool nicknames. We had a lot of fun over the two days. I not only gained an appreciation for my own coaches but also formed new friendships and a new sense of community.

Interests outside of fencing: I am a big reader, so whenever I have some downtime or a day off, I like to read as a way to unwind. I am also a huge college football and professional hockey fan, so you can often hear me screaming at the TV or find me intently watching a college football or professional hockey game.
