Four TMFC Fencers Succeed at Junior Olympic Qualifiers

New York, NY (Dec 17, 2023) — Four Tim Morehouse fencers qualified for the Junior Olympics through local qualifiers.

Local qualifier tournaments are the way to go if you are short on qualifying points for national events like the Junior Olympics or Summer Nationals.

At the Metro New York Junior Olympic Qualifier, women’s saber fencer Pompie Yannopoulos qualified for the under-17 (Cadet Women’s Saber) and under-20 (Junior Women’s Saber) events.

At the Connecticut Division Junior Olympic Qualifier at Candlewood Fencing Club, three TMFC fencers qualified:

Tyler Bleil, for under-17 (Cadet Men’s Foil) and under-20 (Junior Men’s Foil) events;

Juliet Cutler, for under-17 (Cadet Women’s Saber) and under-20 (Junior Women’s Saber) events; and

Andrew Wasco, under-17 (Cadet Men’s Saber).

Congratulations fencers—we look forward to Junior Olympic successes.
