Manhattan, NY (Jan 23, 2022) — Olympian in the house!!!
Olympian, Harvard saber coach and Tim Morehouse Team member Eli Dershwitz visited Tim Morehouse Fencing Club in Manhattan this weekend. While on-site, he led clinics with the Youth-10 squad and the Elite Youth group.
The Youth-10 fencers were coached on footwork, technique and what to do when they start competing on their own in the coming weeks.
Dershwitz stayed for the Youth Elite class as well.
“Early on, it's very important for young fencers to like the foundation and building blocks of fencing,” Dershwitz said. “They have to have fun when they come to practice so they want to keep coming to practice.” He added: “When they're in an atmosphere where they feel happy to be at practice with good teammates, good friends and good coaches, the hard work flows naturally.”
