Valley Forge, PA (Nov. 20-21, 2021) — It was a medal-ful weekend at Valley Forge.
Fencers from Tim Morehouse Fencing Club worked hard to bring home 23 medals overall in saber and foil at the American Challenge.
There were an unprecedented amount of gold medals. Starting with Kai Toomre in Y-10 Men’s Foil, Amabel Wang won gold in Y-10 Women’s Foil, Nickolas Rusadze won gold in Y-14 Men’s Foil, Aram Clark won gold in Y-12 Men’s Saber and, Zihou Dai won gold in Y-10 Men’s Saber.
While there was not a silver in the bunch, bronze medals abounded. Zizi Dao kicked it off for the foilists, winning bronze in Y-12 Women’s, Iris Yang won bronze in Y-14 Women’s and Savannah Li won bronze in Y-10 Women’s. In saber, Miles Chambers and Timothy Chang shared bronzes in the Y-10 Men’s event. Seth Edelman won bronze in Junior Men’s Saber, his best finish ever in JMS.
And there were three events where TMFC fencers dominated the medal-winning — Y-12 Women’s Foil (3), Y-12 Men’s Saber (3) and Y-10 Men’s Saber (5). The future for these fencers looks bright.
