TMFC Alums in Action: Qualifiers for the NCAA Fencing Finals

New York, NY (March 15, 2022) — Four alumni of Tim Morehouse Fencing Club have qualified for the NCAA 2022 National Collegiate Men’s and Women’s Fencing Championships.

Duke University foil fencers Finn Hossfeld, Christina Ferrari and Catherine Flanagan all hit the strip last weekend at the Mid-Atlantic/South Regional Qualifier in Princeton, NJ. While Ferrari finished fourth, earning a trip to the finals, Hossfeld and Flanagan had to wait for the final selection announcement Tuesday.

Yale University saber fencer and TMFC alum Sydney Hirsch finished fourth at the Northeast Regional in Poughkeepsie, NY, earning a definite trip to the finals.

Drew University Saber Fencer Michael Parkhurst also competed in Princeton but failed to make the final cut.

The 2022 NCAA NC fencing championship will take place March 24-27 at the Castellan Family Fencing Center in Notre Dame, Illinois. The National Collegiate Men’s and Women’s Fencing Championships include individual events in each of six weapons (men’s épée, men’s foil, men’s saber, women’s épée, women’s foil, and women’s saber).

Congratulations fencers, coaches, and parents.
