King of Prussia, PA (April, 2021) - Foil and Epee students of Tim Morehouse Fencing Club competed in the American Challenge RYC/RJCC, a jam packed two-day tournament at Valley Forge Casino Resort. Our fencers participated in many different competitions, achieving great results on the fencing strip. They were accompanied by Coaches Achiko, Sara, Maksim and Chris throughout the events.

Our fencers accomplished awesome results, achieving five medal wins altogether. Our students won one Bronze Medal, four Top-8 Medals, and seven placements in Top-16.

Notably, Mia Guo won a Bronze Medal in Y-10 Women’s Foil. Jonah Lee won two Top-8 Medals in Y-12 and Y-14 Men’s Foil Jackson Wong won a Top-8 Medal in Y-12 Men’s Foil. Emily Gu won a Top-8 Medal in Y-14 Women’s Foil. Grace Feng, Amabel Wang, Henry Zhang. Brendan Lee, William Gerrish, and Alexandra Wong achieved Top-16 placements.

Meet The Fencing Coaches - Saber Coach Chris Cheney

Coach Chris Cheney is 2x team national champion and is currently a professional coach and program consultant for multiple saber clubs. Chris has 10 years of professional coaching experience including six years owning and running a successful saber program in Nashville Tennessee that produced multiple state and regional champions, national medalists, and internationally competitive athletes.

In addition to coaching, Chris is a referee on the international, national and NCAA circuit. He has refereed numerous times at the US National Champions and Junior Olympics as well as traveled to referee international competitions.

Chris teaches classes and gives lessons in addition to supporting the students at Tim Morehouse Fencing Club as they travel and compete on the regional, national and international level.

Chris finds his love of fencing in the logic of the fight and the aesthetic of the technique and finds joy in sharing this passion.

Martin Luther King Day Fencing Camp (Monday, Jan 20)

The next Tim Morehouse Fencing Club Youth Camp is Monday, January 20 from 10am-3pm at both our Port Chester and Manhattan locations.

The camp is open to members and non-members ages 6-12. We have groups for both beginners and more experienced fencers.

President's Week Camp - Feb. 17-21 (Manhattan and Port Chester)

Spring Break camp - March 16-21 (Manhattan and Port Chester)

Easter/Passover Week Camp - April 13-17 (Manhattan and Port Chester) The rate is $125/day for members and $150 for non-members.
