New York, NY (Jan 28, 2024) — Competition was fierce at the TMFC Youth Saber Cup.

Fencers from Y-8, Y-10, Y-12 and the open category competed at the second TMFC competition of the season at the Tim Morehouse Fencing Club in Manhattan.

Chloe Chen and Maximilian Hagn each took two gold medals, competing in both the Y-10 and Y-12 events. Jonas Broening Chai won gold in the Open Saber event. Y-8 gold medalists were Lorenzo Mangini and Akari Tomonari.

In addition, the Westchester version of the TMFC Youth Saber Cup took place on Jan 26 in Port Chester. Fencers in Y-8 Men’s Saber finished first, Ethan Zhang, second, Marcus Taur (FAW), Jack Pulerwitz (FAW) and Aarav Bajaj in 3T and Chase Fabrizio in fifth place.

In Y-10 Men’s Saber, Boyan Kuljiev finished first, Ethan Zhang, second, Simon Perez and Lucian Devine in 3T and Nicholas Huang (Manhattan FC) in fifth place.

Y-12 Men’s Saber was Ethan Dai in first versus Anand Shah in second.

Finally, in Open Mixed Saber, Liam Wong took gold, Josh Meadow took silver, Mateo Quintero and Sebi Auerbach shared 3T and John Daly took fifth place.

All who participated received valuable time competing on the strip. This experience helps prepare these young fencers for regional and national competitions.
