Phoenix, AZ (July 7, 2023) — The last of the “big kid” events wound up, and with them, Tim Morehouse Fencing Club fencers earned another three medals.
Gabriel McCarthy earned a sixth-place medal for Division II Men’s Saber. In Y-14 Women’s Saber, Keira Lauri earned eighth place and her second medal at Summer Nationals. Finally, Eleanor Li earned a bronze medal in Division II Women’s Foil and her B-23 rating.
In Y-14 Men’s Foil, Jonah Lee narrowly missed the medal stand at 10. Brendan Lee (28) made the top-32 and Kai Toomre (64) made the top-64. In Division II Women’s Foil, Selena Zhang (23) made the top-32. In Y-14 Women’s Saber, Brynnley McKee (34) made the top-64.
The National Championships and July Challenge (Summer Nationals) are in Phoenix, AZ, from June 30 to July 9. This signature tournament features 96 events (and 96 medal ceremonies) over 10 days. Medals — and national championships — will be on the line in every USA Fencing classification, from the youngest (Y-10) to the most seasoned veterans (Vet-80).
