Fencing Competition Calendar
STUDENT GOALS AND QUALIFYING EVENTS FOR FENCING:
The Youth Fencers (Y10, 12 and Y14) "pinnacle" National event is the Summer Nationals which are held June 28-July 8, 2018 in St. Louis. We hope every club members works to quality by attending RYCs and SYCs. These competitions earn the fencers regional points (RYCs) and National Points (SYCs).
The Cadet and Junior "Pinnacle" National events are the Junior Olympics, Summer Nationals and Division 1 National Championship. You qualify by getting national points at an appropriate NAC (North American Cup) tournament or by earning enough points at the RJCCs.
The Division 1 fencers pinnacle events are the Division 1 National Championship and qualifying to attend Senior World Cups by attaining a top-10 National ranking. You must have a C rating to compete in the Division 1 category.
Cadet, Junior and Div.1 fencers must attain national points in their respective age categories and then rank at least in the top-16 to attend the world cups that would make them eligible to try to score international points to then make World Championship teams.
The supreme pinnacle event of fencing: THE OLYMPICS. (3 Division 1 Events, World Champions and 8 Senior World Cups determine who makes the Olympic team in the Olympic year.
